For the 2024 season, players born in 2012-2013 (ages 11, 12) participate in the U13 program. The U13 program typically has 2-3 floor times a week.

They will spend more time developing their skills, and playing more games.

All players are assessed and evaluated, as U13 is a non-parity division - meaning players are placed on teams with equal or similar skill levels to create a fair and competitive season. (What non-parity means: like-skilled/tiered groupings, U13 Lacrosse for CDLA member teams will be played in tiers A,B,C)

U13 season runs until end of June and ends with city-wide provincials at the end of the season (end of June, beginning of July).

  • Players can also expect to participate in weekend tournaments. These tournaments are determined by each team.

The format for U13 will be:

  • U13 sessions are 1-1.5 hour.
  • U13 games are 1.25 hour floor time - 3x15min
  • play full floor.
  • play 5 on 5 (with goalie)
  • 4 x 4 nets
  • referees on floor to call penalties and explain violations; players who repeatedly commit rule violations will be sent off the floor.
  • Full Contact at U13.
  • U13 require full gear. Click here to view guidelines, and expectations.

Score is kept and entered into the League Management System.

A Try Outs / HOKS:

Please note to participate in the 'A' Try Outs, your player must be registered in their division package, and paid their try out fee as well. The fee to try out is $50.00.

Players who are looking for the highest skill level and most competitive environment may attend evaluations for the HOKS A team which combines players from the ORLA, High River, northeast Calgary Knights and possibly the Strathmore area to create a team to compete at the highest skill level against the larger clubs in Calgary. The HOKS team may have practices outside of the Okotoks area to accommodate teams from these other locations and may also play a regular season game as far north as Red Deer as the Red Deer A team plays with the CDLA at this age level.
